8/8/2023 0 Comments Red tail boa enclosure![]() ![]() ![]() The Biodude sells kits but I say just use him as a source to learn to do it yourself. I have met him in person and bought from him and I cannot stress the level of attention to detail he gives to each individual question I had. The Dude is very well known and respected in the bio community. Read through their "Files" section, they have tons of info for basic bio setups, plants that are safe to use, and DIY steps-by-step instructions.Ī second source is The Bio Dude. It might take a couple days to get approved but just be patient, they have about 17,000 active members there. So the first thing you will want to do is to join the Facebook group Reptile and Amphibian Bioactive Setups group. I can't help but figure that it's either too difficult of a task to manage a bio active enclosure this large or it's unsafe for this type of snake or their well being. Would doing a Bio Active setup greatly benefit the well being of my Colombian Red Tail or would it stress her out too much I know they like their enclosures more simple but would there be a way to create a simpler Bio active enclosure? I don't necessarily need enough bugs to clean all the feces or her shed because I don't mind cleaning that, I just don't want there to be so much excess mold growth.Īny advice on battling mold growth in her enclosure would be appreciated, and if anybody happens to know why there isn't any info on setting up bioactive enclosures for this type of species just so I know if its unsafe or something along those lines. I saw a lot of info about springtail bugs being good for mold cleanup but I know i'd have to do a decent amount of setup to make the enclosure habitable for them too. What struck my curiosity was that I struggle with some mold growth in my Colombian Red tail's enclosure and it makes me worry about an eventual RI despite my diligent cleaning, but i'd also like to lessen the number of times I have to clean out the mold. I don't see any info on doing a Bio Active setup for this type of snake, so i'm assuming it's not a logical or possible thing to do. ![]()
